Surgery update 20th August 2021

Please note we have had 55 patients test positive for Covid 19 in the last 7 days and 144 in the last 28 days – this is the reason why we are still protecting our patients and staff and are requiring all patients to have a telephone call with the Doctor or Paramedic before offering them a face to face appointment.

Covid vaccinations for all patients over the age of 16 – The Broad Street Mall in Reading town centre are offering a walk-in service 7 days a week 09:30 to 19:30 no appointment necessary.  Alternatively Google ‘grab a jab’ for other locations.

For the following Covid related queries please DO NOT telephone the surgery – please call 119

  • Booking or changing a covid vaccination appointment
  • Questions about the covid vaccination programme
  • Requesting an NHS covid pass hard copy letter
  • Questions about the NHS covid pass
  • Reporting technical issues with the NHS covid pass

Further information and advice including exemption letters can be found on the government website. (www.gov.uk)

Covid booster vaccinations

We have no update yet from NHS England when these will be available but will post an update as soon as we have further information.

Flu vaccinations

We will be setting up clinics for September/October in the near future once delivery dates have been confirmed.

Please do not telephone the surgery regarding COVID boosters/flu vaccination.

Blood tests

Currently there is a global shortage of products used for blood collection and blood tests.  In order to preserve supplies for people who urgently need blood tests the NHS have been advised to reduce the number of non-clinically urgent tests as well as to delay routine tests where it is safe to do so.

We appreciate the inconvenience that this may case. We would like to reassure you that we have assessed that it is clinically safe to delay your test.

We will be re-booking blood tests when supplies become more easily available. If you require urgent care please seek it as normal.
