Test Results

Please phone after 10am for results to avoid the busiest time of day.

In order to maintain complete confidentiality results will only be given to patients themselves or to the parents of minors. If you want your results to be given to someone else, please give us your written consent.

Surgery arranged tests

If you have has a test at the surgery the results are seen by the doctor who organised the test who will add messages such as “normal”, “make an appointment” or “speak to the doctor” which can be passed on by reception. If you need to discuss results please speak to the doctor or nurse who arranged them to maintain continuity. Another doctor may not necessarily know your problem.

Hosptial or tests performed outside of the surgery

If your test was arranged by the hospital but you were told to speak to the GP, please ring our secretaries. They will get the result for the GP to view. Your GP (despite what the hospital might tell you) will not automatically get the result and it takes time to access the results form the local NHS hospitals..
