Routine Appointments

At Twyford Surgery we try to see everybody on the day of calling. However, a number of appointments are available to book up to a month in advance. These include Tuesday and Thursday evening appointments and Saturday mornings.
To book an appointment call the surgery and we will endeavour to arrange for you to see the doctor or nurse in a 'normal' appointment. If you think the problem could be dealt with over the phone please say so and a telephone appointment can be made for you. The doctor or nurse can always arrange to see you after discussing the problem with you.
If all of our appointments on the day have been filled and your problem is urgent you will be given an emergency five minute 'extra' appointment or telephone call at the beginning or end of the doctor or nurses' routine surgery.
You do not have to see the doctor you are registered with but we do prefer you to keep to one doctor as your “usual doctor”. This is particularly helpful if you have an ongoing problem as starting again with a new doctor for an old problem can be difficult for both the doctor and the patient.
For ailments such as coughs & colds, earache, cystitis, sore throats and minor injuries the doctor can advise you over the phone or you can see the nurse. They will always ask the duty doctor to see you if necessary.
If you are in doubt of what you need please give the receptionists as much detail as possible and they will try to help you.
